Residential and Commercial Lawn Installation

A vibrant green landscape is not only more aesthetically appealing; it is helpful to the environment and adds value to your residence or place of business. Consumers are three times more likely to visit a company or business that has a well-kept landscape, but maintaining a landscape can be time-consuming and difficult. Many factors can contribute to its demise. If approximately 30 to 50 percent of your lawn is dead, soft, and spongy, or if 50 percent of it is covered in weeds, it may be time for a Hydroseed lawn makeover. Hydroseed offers a safe, natural alternative to give you back the green, vibrant lawn you deserve

Reasons for a Lawn Renovation

The first step in lawn renovation is to determine the primary cause of turf deterioration. Many lawns installed over 20 years ago were done so with common type turf grasses not suited for heat, drought, or poor soil conditions. This means they typically require more water and fertilizer and are more prone to disease and old age. Newly constructed homes are often stripped of topsoil, which creates poor growing conditions. Hydroseed’s trained and specialized technicians will visit your residential or commercial property and assess your lawn to determine the source. Common causes of turf deterioration include:

  • Drought
  • Excessive Shade
  • Tree Root Competition
  • Poor Drainage
  • Soil Compaction
  • Inadequate Fertility
  • Soil Acidity
  • Weeds
  • Insect Infestation
  • Fungus Disease
  • Thatch Build-Up
  • Improper Mowing
  • Poorly Adapted grass species
  • Home Renovations
  • Pool Installations
  • Septic Installations

Installation Options

Hydroseeding
Using a blend of seed, mulch, and other nutrients, hydroseed is an economical and environmentally friendly option for seeding large areas of grass quickly.

Dry-Seeding
Your entire lawn or specific problem area will be dry-seeded with a premium-quality grass blend appropriate for your site conditions. The advantage of dry-seeding is cost-saving for you. However, the timing for dry-seeding is essential and requires attention to watering needs. You can tailor your seed choices to the soil type, sun, and amount of traffic the lawn will get.

Sod Installation
Sod can be installed at any time during the growing season and will offer instant results. It is not recommended for shady or non-irrigated areas because it needs water and sunlight to survive.

Here at Hydroseed, we have over 30 years of experience as hydroseed experts. We are Michiana’s most trusted source for lawn installation, renovation, and maintenance. Sod is more expensive and can leave visible seams on your lawn. Hydroseed uses a 4-Step process that works your soil depth down two to three inches for a properly prepared seedbed. We then drill-seed your recommended seed choice, apply hydromulching over the entire lawn, and apply two follow-up fertilizer applications for 60-days of feeding. After the 60-day feeding period, Hydroseed has custom grow-in fertilizer programs available to get your lawn to a mature look quickly.

Hydroseeding is more cost-effective, adaptable, effective, and healthier over the long term. It also maintains a healthy level of erosion control. To learn more about Hydroseed’s process, visit our page on hydroseed.
